Some people say 5 is thee maximum, some say 20 or more. Does anyone know?

    But it depends on what country they are in.

    Many mares can produce foals for 15-20 years before entering into menopause at around age 30, but there is no hard science available to confirm the length of time horse mares can continue to breed.
